Bass Ackwards Band hails from Ventura, CA where JB King (front man, songwriter, singer), Brandon Jackson (Lead Guitar), Steven Charles (Bass Guitar), and Greg White (Drummer) found a common purpose in music.
In August, 2010, King started re-forming a band that years ago put together four such talents to impact a music industry that had already become congested with a cookie cutter format of artists imposed upon radio listeners by record labels that had no intention in developing music, but rather, build empires by their conquests.
The band today employs the techniques of great bands of the past as a platform to drive new lyrics into a style that just won’t be forgotten. They call their genre, “The New Classic Rock”, as many say they sound like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Police and the Spin Doctors all wrapped into one.
Their live performance is where they excel; living to play to audiences of all ages and bringing back that musical spirit that record companies have tried to destroy, but have failed to do so.
Wherever they play, they bring everything in their arsenal and never deviate from the idea that people want to feel the music, not just hear it. Many say that the music is spiritual and enlightening.
In October 2010, they played with John Mayall, (The Godfather of British Blues) and in February 2011, they shared the stage with Robin Trower, one of the twentieth centuries most prolific guitarist and writers.
